Gary 'Mr-E' Engels

Gary founded LEGACY after giving a TEDx talk on Project Based Leadership Training in 2013. This idea has sparked thousands of community/leadership projects around the world. He is a Royce Gracie Jiu Jitsu Black Belt and 4th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo. Founding Leadership Academy in 2005, they use the martial arts as a vehicle to teach Leadership Skills. He founded LEGACY as an extension of this training to make an impact in the world through action and results in communities everywhere.

Nikki 'Clarity' Engels

Nikki Engels is a wife and mother of three beautiful children.
She has dedicated her career of 14 years to teaching women how to stay active and healthy through her teachings in her women’s fitness classes and kickboxing classes. She has taken her passion to help others one step further by becoming certified in Viniyoga™ and writing about her healing transformation that took place in 2016 to 2019. Nikki is dedicated to teaching others that they too can heal conditions similar to hers through various natural ideals.

Who is the LEGACY program for?

The LEGACY program is designed primarily for young people ages 9-14, although it is also suitable for older teens and adults who want to develop their leadership skills as well. We have successful teens and adults who have accomplished so much with our Missions. We created LEGACY with families in mind and wanted to create an experience and memories for the whole family to participate in together. 

What kinds of Courses/Missions and resources are included in the LEGACY program?

The LEGACY program includes a wide range of Missions, Courses and Resources designed to help young people develop a variety of leadership skills, including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and more. Some of the courses and resources included in the program are: BalancedMinds, Young Warriors 753, 10P3 - Positive Power Principles, Path to Purpose Challenge, Legacy Champions, Remarkable Young Leaders and Project Based Leadership Challenges.

How long does the LEGACY program take to complete?

The LEGACY program is designed to be flexible, so you can take as much time as you need to complete the courses and resources. However, most participants will be able to complete the program within 6-12 months, depending on their level of commitment and how quickly they are able to progress through the material. Beyond that initial training, many families continue participating for years as there is no true end to our program.
